Coordinates 50°52'34.16?N 4°25'19.24?E? / ?50.8761556, 4.4220111The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) French Organisation du Traité de l'Atlantique Nord (OTAN), also called the (North) Atlantic Alliance, is a military alliance established by the signing of the North Atlantic Treaty on 4 April 1949. The NATO headquarters are in Brussels, Belgium,[3] and the organization constitutes a system of collective defence whereby its member states agree to mutual defense in response to an attack by any external party. For its first few years, NATO was not much more than a political association. However, the Korean War galvanized the member states, and an integrated military structure was built up under the direction of two U.S. supreme commanders. The first NATO Secretary General Lord Ismay famously stated the organization's goal was "to keep the Russians out, the Americans in, and the Germans down".[4] Throughout the Cold War doubts over the strength of the relationship between the European states and the United States ebbed and flowed, along with doubts over the credibility of the NATO defence against a prospective Soviet invasion - doubts that led to the development of the independent French nuclear deterrent and the withdrawal of the French from NATO's military structure from 1966. After the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, the organization became drawn into the Balkans while building better links with former potential enemies to the east, which culminated with several former Warsaw Pact states joining the alliance in 1999 and 2004. Since the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, NATO has attempted to refocus itself to new challenges and has deployed troops to Afghanistan and trainers to Iraq.

2. Prophetic Implications of the 2008 Election
September 20, 2008
Does the Bible have anything to say about the 2008 elections in America? Specific outcomes of the race may not be covered in the scriptures but since prophecy is pre-written history the general implications of the election are inescapable, what are they?
One of the surest things about the future is that the world will see the rise of a final world dictator. He will rise over the newly formed EU and will extend his rule across the globe not by warfare but through the most attractive economic system the world has ever seen. Yes it is connected to the mysterious and infamous number 666. That... (read more)

3. A cruel joke
September 22, 2008
It is a excellent cruel joke than NATO forces are expressing sorrow for the killing of innocent citizens including women and children of Pakistan at Angor Adda attack in the limits of Federal Administrated Tribal Area on wrong tip of US and western security agencies. Is an apology or an expression of sorrow worth! One could feel sorry for the people distraught by jolts of tremor or earthquake or tsunami.
This issue is not soft and light like a tissue but further missile attacks. Especially when the chief (Admiral) of US forces was in capital city of Islamabad to discuss the current posit... (read more)

4. Brussels: Chocolate Capital of the World
April 03, 2008
As the de facto capital of Europe, home to both the EU and the NATO headquarters, it’s fair to say that Brussels plays a vital part in European society and global politics, and if you were asked to name something that makes Brussels famous then its role as the capital of European politics is bound to spring to mind. Then again, you may decide to answer more ‘diplomatically’, and name the other thing that Brussels is world famous for: chocolate! The image of the chocolate-obsessed Belgian also springs quickly to mind when thinking of Brussels – and with over 2,000 chocolate shops and fa... (read more)

5. Brussels: cultural capital of Europe
March 07, 2008
Being the epicentre of European politics, Brussels may not immediately spring to mind in the same way as Paris or Rome does when planning a short European break. Housing both the European Commission and the Council of the European Union, not to mention international organisations such as NATO, Brussels is indeed a bustling business and political hub, but it is also a historical and cultural hotspot. Founded around the turn of the 10th century A.D., Brussels developed quickly into a commercial centre, largely due to its location on the shores of the river Senne. This, in turn, lead to the ... 6. Why Afghanistan?
January 26, 2008
Why Afghanistan? Afghans are asking it. NATO troops are asking it. The body bags are asking it. Mourning families are asking it.
History will ask it.
This reckless, unnecessary adventure that started out, some say, over oil pipelines. This reckless, unnecessary adventure that started out, some say, because the US administration fell out with a bunch of renegades they’d just welcomed as saviours to the White House, given them truckloads of arms and dollars to prove it. This reckless, unnecessary adventure that started out, some say, over 9/11, whose main perpetrators came, not from A... (read more)

7. Afghanistan, the Gates of hell
January 19, 2008
US Defense Secretary Robert Gates is one hard nut. He can’t be any relation to the Gates of Microsoft, because there’s no space for soft in his world. US Defense Secretary Robert Gates is one hard nut. To prove it, he recently accused the Canadians, the Brits, and the Dutch, among other NATO allies in Afghanistan, of being softies. And he should know, because US Defense Secretary Robert Gates is one hard nut. The NATO-led force has almost 37,000 troops in Afghanistan. All of them softies, apparently. But not to worry. Day by day, there are less of them around to irritate the US Def... (read more)

July 01, 2007
On March 24, 1999, NATO started operation that was aimed against Yugoslavia (Federal Republic of Yugoslavia) that was called Operation Allied Force. It resulted to be very controversial and some even called it "most serious U.S. foreign policy blunder since Vietnam". Clinton tried to explain to the public that the campaign was launched to prevent a "an even crueler and costlier and wider war in Europe" (so-called domino effect) and damage Serbian’s military forces in order to stop harming Kosovo’s people. Although, throughout the operation there were quite a few amendments to the initial set ... (read more)

May 11, 2007
With nearly every major facet of second coming prophecy falling into place in the last forty years, news of new ties between the U.S. and the EU leaves very little yet to be fulfilled.
The ties between the EU and the United States are small advances and resultantly few are taking notice but future changes will be major as the prophetic time line peaks. There will be no stopping this runaway train.
The Bible provides redundant warnings that when Israel is gathered again to become a nation that there is only one generation left before the second coming of Christ. Many eschatologists h... (read more)

July 29, 2006
The EU is itchin' for a fight, frustrated, getting too big for its britches, and feels the growing need for some piece of the global action and fast.
Michael Shtender-Auerbach offers a convincing argument in the EUOBSERVER that NATO is dead, the UN is ineffective, and categorically states Europe must rise to the occasion and exert world leadership in the Middle East and fill the power vacuum that is becoming clearer with each crisis that merely evokes a slow and tedious response after much haggling:
The European Union should consider the immediate dispatch of its EU Rapid Reaction... (read more)

19. America and The Anti-Christ - America will it submit to the world's last dictator
February 16, 2006
Americans spend more time going over the prophecies of the bible than any other people in the world. They know full well of the coming of the person called the Anti-Christ, or do they?
One fact that is so often overlooked by the eschatologist and second coming enthusiasts, is the means by which antichrist succeeds in completely taking over the world. His means are unique in every way. Unlike all dictators and despots before him who tried and failed, he manages to pull it off. He succeeds where others have failed because his approach is entirely different. Every want to be dictator or rule... (read more)
